Die Idee für die Apparatur EPNT entstand aus der Frage, ob man das Gefühl eines Musikers , das er hat, bevor oder während er einen Sound spielt, messen kann. Als Messmethode wurde zunächst die Wärmestrahlung vom Kopf gewählt.

Das Buch „Physik des Geistes“ zeigt die universelle Einsetzbarkeit der Apparatur EPNT und den Einfluss auf andere kulturelle Bereiche. Dabei werden sowohl reale als auch imaginäre Vorgänge behandelt. Diese beziehen sich auf folgende Gebiete:
Medizin/Psychologie (charakteristisches Mentalspektrum, Wärmeentwicklung beim Handy),
Sinneswahrnehmung (Sehen von Farben, Tastsinn, Schmecken/Riechen),
Wahrheitsfindung (zweidimensionaler Lügendetektor),
Biologie (Verhalten von Tieren, Wärmeabstrahlung von Pflanzen),
Gestirne (Wärmestrahlung der Sonne mit/ohne Aschewolke, Mondfinsternis, Zinn-/Eisschmelze),
Physik (Dispersion, Einfluss einer Magnetplatte, verschiedene Spiegel),
Sprechen und Rechnen (Erkennen von Vokalen und Silben sowie von Kopfrechnen),
Kommunikation (Messen des Untersuchten bei verschiedenen Gefühlen und gleichzeitiger IR-Bestrahlung, Gefühlsroboter),
Fußball (Stärke gegen Zuschauerbeeinflussung, Kommunikation zwischen Assist und Torschützen),
Musik (Messung von Gefühlen bei einem Geiger, Intonation, Taktschläger, Auf- und Abstrich bei der Geige: real bzw. gedacht),
Philosophie des Geistes (Experimenteller Dualismus).  

The idea to develop the EPNT device arose from the question if the feeling of a muisician can be measured before and during he playes the sound. As measuring method at first the infrared emission from the head was chosen.
The book  "Physics of Mind" shows the universal employment of the EPNT device and the influence on other cultural aspects. Both real and imagined processes are discussed as follows for example:
medicine/psychology (characteristic mental spectrum, infrared emission of a mobile),
sensual observation (identifying colours, sense of touch, taste and smell),
to find out the truth (2-dimensional lie detector),
biology ( measuring of behaviours attributed to animals respectively of the infrared emission of plants),
celestial bodies ( infrared emission of the sun - also behind the volcanic ash cloud, eclipse of the moon, melting of tin and ice),
physics (dispersion, influence of a magnetic plate, different kind of mirrors),
speaking and calculating ( recognizing of vocals and syllables as well as mentally numbered figures),
communication (imaging feelings and getting infrared pulses from outside, feeling roboter),
football (self-conciousness, communication between two players in the moment when the one assists and the other is trying to make the goal),
music (measuring of feelings of a violinist, intonation, rythm, up- and down-bowing on a violin: real and imagined),
philosophy of mind (experimental dualism).
